New Skype community and support

Posted on | Tyler

So I’m subscribed to Skype’s blogs and I use Google Reader for all my RSS feeds and today I got an update from them about an update to their support network, which I found interesting.

In the past, I’ve always encountered some kind of problem with Skype whether it be a call problem, or GUI glitch, or a social network API problem, I always found something wrong with Skype. They had forums there before, but I never really went to the forums for support and always wanted to get to them directly by email. I did successfully get to them through email only once before, but the answer I got was not satisfying at all. I did searches and looked through Skype’s old forums before but never found the answer I wanted and ignored those small errors. But now with this update, I thought why not give it a try? So I did, and have already posted a couple topics and am awaiting reply back.

The new forums is in beta stage at the moment, and many replies and topics have already been made by those that are looking for support, help and questions as to why some things in Skype won’t work and etc. There are even some that find these new forums hard and confusing, but when it comes to new things, it takes time to adapt. I can adapt easily, and I’ve never been on the old forums before (except only to search and etc) so hopefully making use of these new forums will get the team’s attention to make Skype better.

Did they delete everything (including helpful support) from the old forums?

  • @LWC, they probably did, I’m not too sure.
